Landesvereinigung Kulturelle Kinder- und Jugendbildung (LKJ) Sachsen-Anhalt e. V. (Association for cultural child and youth education in the federal state Saxony-Anhalt) is an umbrella organisation of approx. 25 professional associations for music, literature, theatre, play, media and other creative-cultural educational and leisure activities for young people in Saxony-Anhalt.
The LKJ is a national approved supporting organisation
of youth welfare service in Saxony-Anhalt. The organisation is a member
of the Bundesvereinigung Kulturelle Jugendbildung e. V., BKJ (German
Association for Cultural Youth Education) and of the Kampagne
internationale Jugendarbeit (Campaign International Youth Work).
Constitutive on the offers of cultural education for
children and youth who are active in the separate organisations, the
emphasis of our work lies in exemplary actions and projects for all
members: various seminars and workshops, activities of advanced
training and consultancies in the field of cultural education for
children and youth, Intercultural Voluntary Service "Cultural Joker"
(with own projects in Vietnam and Senegal), Festival of Improvisation
Theatre, Service point of the CIVITAS Network (programme for
development of democracy and for fight against the right-wing
extremism), Youth-Culture-Price and Youth Information Service in
Saxony-Anhalt (http://www.jissa.de)
The LKJ coordinates the Voluntary Social Year in the
field of cultural work in Saxony-Anhalt, which enables an experience in
the cultural organisation for approx. 40 young people per year. Our
organisation co-operates in the implementation of the "Project for
Tolerance und Democracy", which organises project days in schools and
aims to develop intercultural competences of young people, especially
those within the vocational training.
Since 2002, LKJ Sachsen-Anhalt e.V. coordinates
activities of EXCHANgE Sachsen-Anhalt, a working group of
organisations, that are active in the field of international youth work
in Saxony-Anhalt. Main working fields of EXCHANgE are networking,
counselling, advanced training and development of the activities of the
international youth work in Saxony-Anhalt. Project office EXCHANgE
(located at the LKJ) coordinated the activities of the working group
and served for the implementation of common projects of various
organisations: study programmes for youth workers and multipliers,
training courses, contact making seminars etc. (many of them within the
programme YOUTH). EXCHANgE is active in the field of European
co-operation and coordinated the establishment of the international
network YER - Youth in European Regions and of the Joint EVS Platform
"Diversity in Europe"(also within the programme YOUTH).
The network for German-Vietnamese Youth Exchange is an
important part of the current EXCHANgE activities within the
Asia-co-operation and youth education work with migrants in
Saxony-Anhalt. EXCHANgE has also an experience within the EVS 8 with
Macedonia) and hosted a Macedonian volunteer. EXCHANgE is active in the
regional implementation of the European Youth campaign for diversity,
human rights and participation and initiates campaign activities with
various organisations in Saxony-Anhalt.
There are 6 employees and about 10 free coworkers
for the realisation of various working fields - employees and
freelanced staff - working at the LKJ. Since our organisation
coordinates various voluntary programmes in Saxony-Anhalt, we work a
lot with national volunteers and trainees.
